It’s been a busy spring! Thanks again to Susanne Carter from the Lesley University Threshold Program and WMHS Curriculum Coordinator for Guidance Rosemary Donovan for joining us as specials guests in March. We discussed everything from post-high school paths for kids who learn differently to working with WMHS Guidance to make sure your kid is getting the accommodations they need and identifying the best paths forward while they’re in high school.

In April, Andrew Lipsett from the Woburn School Committee updated us on pending budget discussions and the positive impact they will hopefully have on Special Education, in particular. You can go to the Meeting Minutes page for a recap, or watch the April 13 School Committee meeting here.

In May, Tim Donovan and Joseph Flaherty of the Woburn Commission for the Handicapped and Disabled will join us to discuss what the Commission has been up to and to answer your questions. This will be a great opportunity to give input about how Woburn can better include children with special needs in the community.

We’re also still looking for a Secretary. Reach out to us at wps.SEPAC@gmail.com if you’d like to learn more about the position. We’ll be accepting nominations in September and holding elections in October. And don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for SEPAC news and updates.
